The Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief-Canada (ABERC) provides emergency relief assistance to Antigua and Barbuda, in the event of a national emergency. The fund is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable entity under Registration Number 889758579RR0001. In 2017, ABERC mobilized immediately following Hurricane Irma and managed a successful relief effort over a 3-month period, to assist the people of Barbuda, which was devastated by the Hurricane. In addition to shipping several containers with personal relief items obtained from donations, ABERC was also instrumental in the rebuilding of the Holy Trinity Primary School in Barbuda, which reopened in January 2020. The level of preparedness for the organization continues to improve however we request ongoing support.
